The Dr. Earl D. and Melanie N. Brooks College of Health Professions at Trine University’s Ft. Wayne campus, features an elegant railing system designed by Ft. Wayne based Design Collaborative, with supply and installation managed by Spohn Associates of Indianapolis.
The sophisticated design presented fabrication and installation challenges, prompting Spohn Associates to partner with Hollaender Manufacturing Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio. Hollaender delivered a tailored solution, providing an aluminum base shoe, radius glass, and curved aluminum top cap and cladding that seamlessly integrated throughout the facility.
The aluminum top cap and cladding were chosen for their workability and ability to conform to the design’s radius curves, finished with Tiger Drylac’s Anodized Silver architectural-grade powder coat for a polished look.
Hollaender’s engineering expertise was critical to the project’s success, from precisely drilled glass holes for rail brackets to expertly bent radius glass, ensuring the railing system combined visual appeal with essential safety and accessibility.
